To mark the 50th anniversary of MHSC, Midi Libre invites you to elect the best player in the history of the Pailladin club. Open until November 10, the results of the votes will be revealed in a special supplement "50 years of the MHSC", at the end of 2024.

Born in Montpellier and trained at MHSC, Teji Savanier began his professional career in Arles then Nîmes before joining Montpellier again in 2019. A very inspired versatile midfielder, often a decisive passer and scorer on set pieces, he was one of the great architects of the 2022-2023 survival by scoring 10 goals in the championship.

Having arrived from Tours in 2010 with the title of top scorer in Ligue 2, Olivier Giroud took on another dimension with Montpellier. An unfortunate finalist in the League Cup in 2011, he played a major role in the historic championship title the following year, becoming the top scorer in Ligue 1 (21 goals) just before being transferred to Arsenal.

From the same generation as Laurent Blanc, he has experienced all of MHSC's successes. The 1990 Coupe de France, the 1994 final and then the championship title as assistant to René Girard. He was the club's most capped player for a long time before being overtaken by Souleymane Camara.

Leader of the first big generation to emerge from the training center, Laurent Blanc won the Coupe de France in 1990 with MHSC. Then transferred to Naples, he joined the French team and in 1998 became the only player trained at the world champion club. He remains the record holder for the number of goals scored in the Pailladin jersey.

Arriving in 1988, the Colombian was slow to assume his star status but he gave the club a phenomenal media impact and was part of the victorious campaign in the Coupe de France. During his three seasons in Montpellier, Carlos had four different coaches: Pierre Mosca, Aimé Jacquet, Michel Mézy and Henryk Kasperczak.
