
55 charges against a Quebec soccer coach
Félix-Antoine Bédard is accused in particular of computer luring.
Less than a month after being charged with 25 counts of a sexual nature, Félix-Antoine Bédard now faces 30 additional counts for a total of 55. The coach of soccer allegedly claimed at least 33 underage victims.
The 27-year-old man is notably accused of producing child pornography. If found guilty, he could face up to 14 years in prison.
Félix-Antoine Bédard is also accused of having exhibited his genitals in front of several victims under the age of 16, a criminal act punishable by a maximum prison term of 2 years.
Among the others counts against him, there is transmission of sexually explicit material to minors and offenses as a person in authority or confidence vis-à-vis adolescents.
Where from his first appearance in February, 15 alleged victims had been counted. With the addition of the new charges, that number jumps to 18.
The charges cover the period from January 2020 to February 2023. The alleged victims ranged from 12 to 17 years old at the time of the alleged facts.
Félix-Antoine Bédard appeared Monday morning at the Quebec courthouse. The crown opposed his release. He is forbidden to communicate with the alleged victims. His return to court is scheduled for March 28.
