60-year-old dies in fatal swerve in Shawinigan

A motorist in her sixties died after losing control of his vehicle Sunday morning in Shawinigan.
The victim was traveling alone around 1 a.m. on rang Saint-Mathieu towards Lac-à-la-Tortue. Her vehicle swerved before ending in a ditch.
The driver was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The cause of the accident remains to be determined, indicates the Sûreté du Québec. A police officer specializing in collision investigations was dispatched to the scene.
Rang Saint-Mathieu was then reopened to traffic around 6 a.m. this morning.
