Artificial intelligence is becoming an essential tool for generation Z. The Heaven agency reveals in its latest barometer Born AI a surprising reality: 86% of 18-25 year olds now use AI regularly. This study, conducted among 251 young French people, highlights a silent revolution in their daily habits.

A spectacular boom in daily use

The figures speak for themselves. In just six months, the daily use of AI has almost doubled among young adults, going from 21% to 39%. This meteoric rise demonstrates a deep integration of these technologies into their routine. ChatGPT largely dominates the market with 76.4% adoption, followed by Snapchat's My AI which attracts 46.8% of users.

Searching for information, the new reflex of Generation Z

First significant observation: 89.2% of young people turn to AI for their information searches. ChatGPT has anticipated this need by launching its Search function at the end of 2024. The most popular fields? Culture and history come out on top with 63% of searches, closely followed by pop culture which captivates 58% of users.

AI, a personal assistant for studies and work

Young people have found in AI a valuable ally for their academic and professional careers. 83.6% use it in this context, mainly for four essential tasks: writing texts (59.4%), translation (57.8%), information research and text correction (54.6% each). This massive use reveals an awareness of the current usefulness of AI as well as its future interest.

AI is also transforming the way young people create content. 74.8% of respondents use it to generate images, texts, music or videos. Midjourney, with its web interface launched in August 2024, now surpasses DALL-E in this area.

Personalized recommendations, a new social GPS

Artificial intelligence now plays the role of personal advisor for 65.7% of young people. From choosing a travel destination to purchasing decisions, AI guides their daily choices. Even more surprising, many people consult it to improve their social interactions, whether in a professional or personal context. One in six respondents even claims to use it to refine their political positioning.

Entertainment augmented by AI

Entertainment is not left out, with 59.1% of young people using AI to enrich their leisure time. This use reflects a change in the consumption of recreational content, where AI is becoming a fully-fledged entertainment companion.

A promising future despite some concerns

Enthusiasm for AI remains strong despite some concerns. 72% of young people recognize that it saves them precious time on a daily basis. The quality of the content generated is also impressive: 58.8% admit to having difficulty distinguishing AI creations from those of humans. Although 30% are concerned about the potential replacement of jobs, optimism dominates. More than 60% of respondents plan to intensify their use of AI in 2025.
