A 75-year-old man dies in a fire in Dollard-des-Ormeaux

Firefighters have finished putting out the fire at 100 rue Paris.

A 75-year-old man died on Monday evening in a fire that broke out in a residence in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, in the West Island of Montreal.

Emergency services were alerted around 5:20 p.m. and attended to the residence on Paris Street, near Seville Street.

Once on site, the firefighters had to assist a seriously injured man. The latter was then taken care of by paramedics, but he was unconscious during his transport by ambulance to a hospital.

At the end of the evening, the Police Department of the City of Montreal, which had been called to the scene to manage traffic, confirmed that the septuagenarian succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators went to the scene of the x27;fire in order to clarify the causes and circumstances, which remained unknown at the time of publication.
