With fame comes media coverage. Since they won medals in the biggest swimming competitions in the world, Laure and Florent Manaudou have stepped into the spotlight. A full life for the brother and sister. But today, the future is struggling to emerge.

Laure Manaudou wants to “find the woman I want to become”

In a joint interview given to Parisien Magazine on Saturday January 11, Laure and Florent Manaudou discuss their lives. The latter assures that é there end of his thirtieth season he is “finally happy”. A happiness that does not come alone, however, for the 34-year-old star. “But now, in front of me, there is a great void, he laments. I don't know anymore what I'm running after. Like you Laure, I'm reaching this moment in my life where I have to redefine myself in a way other than performance.”

Same tug of war for Laure Manaudou. Although the ex-wife of Jérémy Frérot left the pools in 2013, she still struggles to find her way. “I had convinced myself that I didn't know how to do anything other than swim. Today, when people ask me what I do for work, I can't answer.”So the mother of Manon, 14 years old, Lou, 7 years old, and Sacha, 3 years old, is looking for meaning in her life. “That's my next challenge: to discover what I love and find the woman I want to become.”

A “strong complicity” between Laure and Florent

And to achieve this, Laure and Florent Manaudou will be able to count on their mutual support. Inseparable, the brother and sister support each other. A bond that has been forged over the years, even if they did not grow up together: Laure Manaudou left the family cocoon very early to train at a high level. “When she left, I was only 10 years old, that's why I have few memories of us together at home. We always had a strong bond, without it being expressed in writing or on the phone.”

Another important person in the life of Florent Manaudou: his sweetheart, Lola Dumenil. A relationship that gives him wings. “She brings me a lot of  serenityé. I went to train in South Africa where she was continuing her studies. She is essential in my sports project, but above all she has become indispensable in my life“, he had declared to Gala last July.
