During the regular meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council in Yerevan, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan delivered a speech in which he assessed the work of the organization. He stated that the CSTO has not yet expressed its attitude to the aggression of Azerbaijan against Armenia, as reported on the official website of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.

Pashinyan called on the CSTO to formulate a clear position on the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict. He also noted that the Collective Security Treaty Organization did not help to deter Azerbaijan from the use of armed forces on the territory of Armenia. According to the minister, the CSTO also showed insufficient attention to the conflict between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

“These facts cause great damage to the image of the CSTO both inside our country and abroad, and I regard this as the main failure of the chairmanship Armenia in the CSTO,” says Nikol Pashinyan.

The Prime Minister of Armenia mentioned that the UN resolution classifies Azerbaijan’s actions towards Armenia as aggression. Pashinyan said that the CSTO should not ignore this fact.

Nikol Pashinyan also criticized the allegations that there is no border between Armenia and Azerbaijan. According to him, in this way the organization avoids responsibility for the events in these territories.
