Organized this Saturday, January 18, the event aims to raise awareness about the environmental risks of a photovoltaic farm project threatening several hectares of scrubland.

This Saturday, January 18 at 11 a.m., a militant picnic is organized on the Montrodier hill in Marguerittes. Three local associations, including Mémoire Verte, are calling for mobilization to protest against a photovoltaic farm project threatening 3.2 hectares of scrubland.

Defend a precious natural heritage

The project, led by the company VSB énergies nouvelles, is dividing the town. While the company highlights the ecological and economic benefits, opponents, united under the Sentinelles des Garrigues federation, denounce the destruction of a fragile ecosystem.

Denis Forzy, president of the Mas Praden neighborhood committee, advocates for alternatives, such as installing solar panels on industrial wastelands. This picnic is an opportunity to raise awareness among the population and defend a precious natural heritage before the public inquiry. Bring a packed lunch as well as suitable shoes and clothing.

Saturday, January 18 at 11 a.m., meeting place at 6172 Montrodier, Marguerittes
