The RTX 4000 page is gradually turning at NVIDIA; Scalded by the setbacks of 2022, the company is planning the end of its range of graphics cards. While the CES show in Las Vegas (January 7-11) is shaping up to be the scene of the < strong>unveiling of the future RTX 5000, the Californian manufacturer is refining this change of chapter to serenely welcome its future series based on the Blackwell architecture, expected for the start of ;year 2025.
The scheduled end of the RTX 4000 should follow a precise schedule, revealed by the Chinese site Board Channels, a privileged observer of Asian supply chains. The top of the range will be the first to open the show: the RTX 4080 SUPER and the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER will disappear in November 2024, their last examples currently leaving the production lines.
Further down the range, the RTX 4070 SUPER and RTX 4070, real commercial successes, will continue their career until December 2024. This extension is not insignificant: their heirs, the RTX 5070, will not hit the shelves until February 2025, for mass availability expected in March.
This retirement of these old GPUs reflects the lessons learned from the previous transition. Between 2021 and 2022, the cryptocurrency mining boom had disrupted the market, causing an overproduction of RTX 3000s. Their sudden decline at the end of 2022 had left NVIDIA and its partners with overstocks, greatly complicating the launch of the RTX 4000.
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000The entry-level (and slightly less popular) RTX 4060 series perfectly illustrates this new, more cautious approach. Its withdrawal will extend until the second quarter of 2025, with NVIDIA anticipating a gradual ramp-up of RTX 5060 production.
The case of the RTX 4090D, a version specific to the Chinese market, deserves special attention. Already withdrawn from distribution channels, it is proof of NVIDIA's regional adaptations in the face of American trade restrictions. The manufacturer's partners (AIC) have exhausted their stocks, marking the premature end of this specific model.
A finely calculated strategy, which reflects the maturity acquired by NVIDIA in the management of its product cycles. The manufacturer, which still dominates the GPU market (and more recently AI) against its major competitor AMD, demonstrates its ability to orchestrate a complex generational transition while preserving its commercial interests and those of its partners. The upcoming arrival of the RTX 5000 is thus announced under the best auspices.
