A fifty-year-old pedestrian violently hit by a tram: his life is in danger

Un homme d’une cinquantaine d’années a été violemment percuté par un tramway à Marseille ce mardi 28 janvier. Grièvement blessé, il a été transporté à l’hôpital. Son pronostic vital est engagé.

This Tuesday, a tram violently hit a pedestrian on the Canebière in Marseille, according to information from La Provence.

Around 2:30 p.m., a 50-year-old man was knocked down by a tram on line 2, at the corner of Boulevard Garibaldi, near the Noailles metro station, one of the busiest intersections in the city center.

About twenty firefighters were called to the scene to rescue the victim. When they arrived, the victim was unconscious. She was seriously injured in the face.

A life-threatening prognosis

The fifty-year-old was taken to hospital with a life-threatening prognosis. The tram driver, who was in shock, was also hospitalized.

Lately, accidents have been happening one after the other in Marseille. Last Sunday, a 29-year-old pedestrian died. She had been hit by a car in the Belle de Mai district of Marseille.
