This Tuesday, on the occasion of the New Year's greetings, the Balmès 2 construction site, on the Colombière site, was officially launched. The delivery dates for the silo parking lot and the biology building are also known.

This Tuesday morning, the management took advantage of this very formal morning of wishes to officially launch the work of Balmès 2. Namely the laying of the first stone of this building which will house geriatrics, palliative care and algology (pain treatment). Announced for the second half of 2027, this building on R + 2 plus basement will have, on 11,000 square meters, 130 rooms, all individual.

The anxiety of the specialty taken into account

“This project responds to the grouping of all the services of the gerontology center in order to create a synergy of the teams and a fluidity in the patient journey”, notes the hospital. It will also allow “a better welcome for residents and their families”. With particular care given to the architecture and environment in order “to reduce anxiety” due to the specialty. The Bellevue gerontology center (Plan des Quatre-seigneurs) and the Saint-Éloi palliative care unit will come to take up residence on this Colombière site.

This €57 million project will be financed in particular by the CHU, the Department and the ARS.

In March, the departments concerned will move to the biology building, where all the medical examinations of patients will converge. It will allow a new organization of the entire CHU. Midi Libre – JEAN-MICHEL MART

Parking and helipad in spring
