
A man seriously injured by the shooting of a police officer in Toronto

The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) in Ontario is looking into a shooting that occurred Monday during a police operation in Toronto that left a man taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Special Investigations Unit says a Toronto police officer fired his duty weapon after responding around 8 a.m. Monday morning to a call for a man with a knife in a north city park.
The SIU adds that two other officers used a stun gun on the suspect.
The 31-year-old was walking his dog and allegedly threatened another resident, leading to police intervention.
After the shooting, officers provided first aid to the victim before paramedics transported him. x27;man in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Toronto police have only indicated that the Special Investigations Unit will investigate. The SIU assigned the task to four investigators and two forensic experts.
