A Nîmes resident wanted by Europol

#NIMESDominique Delattre is on the list of fugitives wanted by Europol. Nicknamed “La Vieille”, “La Vioque” or “Dédé”, he has been wanted for almost 25 years. He was arrested in 1997 when he took part in the attack on a cash transport van in Baillargues. A guard was seriously incarcerated. Sentenced to 20 years of criminal imprisonment, he managed to escape from the Nîmes remand center in 2000.

Accomplices, disguised as painters, had set up ladders and the Nîmes remand center does not allow guards to see outside the prison. He escaped with the help of an accomplice, who would be arrested in the Paris region four years later, but remained completely silent during the hearings.

Aged around sixty today, the authorities suspect him of being in Spain. Europol specifies that he would have “tattoos on his left forearm and wrist and the words 'the saint' on his left forearm”.

The “stop écrou”  triggered for the first time

#PERPIGNAN The maximum occupancy rate of the penitentiary center was reached during the night of Thursday to Friday last, with 779 inmates in total for 529 places, announces L'Indépendant. At the request of the guards, the “stop écrou” was thus temporarily decreed in order to block any new entry.

Several transfers to other establishments have helped to curb the situation. But only for a while… After a new wave of incarcerations during the weekend, the prison only has one place left this Tuesday morning… on a mattress on the floor. If more than one inmate arrives, the management will automatically have to trigger this same measure.

New Conservatory

#NIMESRudy Ricciotti was chosen to design the new conservatory in Nîmes. “This project is a major renovation in a neighborhood that needs it”, recalls Sophie Roulle, deputy for culture.

The architect proposed an ambitious project: that of integration into the existing. Rudy Ricciotti imagined a completely rebuilt building, in a concrete structure of which he is the champion. An exterior envelope made up of sails and prefabricated concrete panels.

The roof, meanwhile, is provided by zinc roofs and terraces. A beautiful and harmonious ensemble in which the six major activity centers of the conservatory will be distributed.

Giant traffic jam

#MONTPELLIERDifficult morning, this Tuesday, December 10 for Montpellier motorists. Between the bus and tram strike, a demonstration by VTC drivers with around fifty vehicles stopped near Montpellier Sud, huge traffic jams formed on the main roads, mainly the A709.

Especially since a traffic accident with a truck on fire in the right lane impacted traffic in the opposite direction… Up to 11 km of slowdowns were recorded.

#SETE This is the cost, in millions of euros, of the footbridge inaugurated at Sète station on Monday, December 9. It connects the southern forecourt of the city, whose works date back to 2019, to the future station car park (220 spaces, a pedestrian mall and a bicycle shelter) located to the north of the railway tracks, serving the railway platforms in passing.

Equipped with four elevators that can support up to 1000 kg, it is the flagship element of the station's new accessibility.
