Armored Mercedes-Benz G-Class visited Sarajevo and Baghdad. Now he carries German journalists writing about the war in Ukraine.
Recently, on the streets of Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, one could see a non-standard armored Mercedes-Benz G-Class on German numbers. The inscriptions “Press” are visible on its body. The history of the car is very interesting – it was told on the TopZhyr website.
The armored Gelendvagen in Ukraine is used by the German journalist Enno Lenze, who is preparing reports on the war with Russia. He came to our country in the spring and managed to visit Kyiv and the Kyiv region, as well as Lviv, Dnipro, Nikolaev, Kharkov.
< p>The Mercedes-Benz G-Class was released back in 1982 and is pretty seriously protected. It has thick armor and bulletproof glass. Most likely, there are also tires that are not afraid of a puncture.
This is not the first time that an off-road vehicle has entered the war zone. In the 90s, this Mercedes Gelendvagen was in Sarajevo during the Yugoslav war, and in 2003 arrived in the capital of Iraq, Baghdad.
< p> Despite the venerable age, the car is in a good condition. The SUV is maintained by German entrepreneur Fidelis Kloer, who specializes in the preparation and distribution of armored vehicles.
