“My habits haven't changed. I don't understand how they do their calculations,” laments a resident, after receiving a bill for 1,836 euros.According to our colleagues, 234 tenants are affected by bills exceeding 1,000 euros.

Three years to beg
But the lessor reassures: “The average regularization in 2022 amounts to 94 euros.” He also proposes a spreading of payments and says he deals with each case on a case-by-case basis. For Vilogia, “the estimated provisions stick in the vast majority of cases to actual consumption”.
It should be noted that the law gives a period of three years to lessors for regularizations: “The owner (or the real estate agency) can claim for 3 years any unpaid charges or rents owed to him”, states the public service website. Even if in practice, they are sent every year.
Note that “if the owner (or the real estate agency) has not revised the rent on the date provided for in the lease, he can only do so in the following year”.
