Eugenia Yepes Vinueza (Eugene Lukienko), the spouse of the Spanish citizen, who was released on the morning of 21 June 2020, spoke about his arrest and thanked those involved in her release. This writes the Spanish newspaper El Pais.
The woman was detained in Donetsk for shooting from the balcony of the flag, hanging there in her absence. On the night of 3 June 2020 in the apartment of Eugenia Yepes Vinueza broke in a group of eight employees “of the Ministry of defence of DNR”. Eugene was detained. Against it brought criminal case for the insult “of the state DNR.”
“The cell was just a bucket and a couple of bottles of water. It was forbidden to lie in bed from six in the morning until ten at night, could only sit. I was told that I was arrested for 30 days and may spend years awaiting trial”, — said Eugene.
This detention received a wide public information and response. Relatives and friends of Eugenia Yepes Vinueza addressed for the help to those people and those organizations that could influence the destiny of women.
On June 20, the court held, the charge was revised, after which Eugenia Yepes Vinueza was taken to the contact line and released.
“I’m sure that my release was influenced by the fact that my husband is a Spaniard,” she said and added that very grateful to the people’s Deputy Viktor Medvedchuk, as well as international organizations Red Cross, the Embassy of Spain in Kiev, the OSCE, the UN.
Recall, Viktor Medvedchuk helps the release of detained persons from December 2014 and during that time organized the release of 490 people.
