Your pet will become more cheerful and calm if you follow certain rules during his training.
American scientists believe that how you raise your dog directly affects how it grows up. If a person is always attentive to the needs of his pet and correctly responds to the behavior of the dog, then he becomes more cheerful, more sociable, calm and intelligent, writes ScienceAlert.
It has long been known that the style of parenting affects their development and what they will become when they grow up. Scientists from the University of Oregon, USA, believe that a similar influence of education is also present in the relationship between people and dogs.

Scientists invited 50 dog owners to participate in the study, who first spoke about how they raise their pets. According to the results of the survey, scientists divided dog owners into three groups, depending on the style of their upbringing:
- A group with the presence of an authoritative parenting style, that is, with high expectations and high response;
- A group with the presence of an authoritarian style, that is, with high expectations and low response;
- A group with the presence of a condescending upbringing, that is, with low expectations, but with a high response.
After that, scientists conducted several behavioral tests to find out how attached dogs are to their owners, how socialized they are, and how well dogs interact with humans.
Tests have shown that dogs that have been given an authoritative parenting style have shown the best results. These pets were more attached to their owner, more sociable and able to perform various tasks with absolutely no problems. In particular, dogs from the authoritarian and condescending group did not cope with the successful completion of tasks, which is an indicator of higher mental development.
Dogs with authoritative parenting styles feel more support from their owners, and therefore feel more confident, according to scientists.
“The behavior and development of dogs in adulthood directly depends on the style of their upbringing. This affects the knowledge of the world by dogs, their mind and overall development. This suggests that people who devote a lot of time to to understand what a dog wants and satisfy its needs, they are more likely to have a reliable friend, a cheerful and calm dog, “says Monique Udell from the University of Oregon.
According to scientists, in the relationship between the owner and An emotional bond plays an important role in a dog, as well as between parents and children. But scientists plan to continue their study and increase the sample of respondents in order to possibly learn something new about the interaction of dogs and humans and its impact on pets.
As already written by Focus, a new study has shown that dogs should be stroked as often as possible, because this has a positive effect on the human brain.
