The Committee on appropriations of the house of representatives of Congress in the draft budget for 2021 has proposed to allocate military assistance to Ukraine for $ 25 million more than previously planned, requested.
This is stated on the official website of the Committee on appropriations, RBC-Ukraine online reports.
According to a press release the document, next year Ukraine may receive from the United States military assistance in the amount of $ 275 million.
The document also requires the Secretary of defense to inform Congress of any undue delays in the payment of assistance.
So, Ukraine can receive from the USA on 100 million dollars more than in the 2020 financial year.
Note, the document must be approved by the House of representatives and the U.S. Senate. Only after that the draft budget will be submitted for signature to the President of the United States. Financial year in the US begins on 1 October.
Earlier, the “FACTS” wrote that it was originally planned that military assistance to Ukraine in 2021 will be provided for $ 250 million, and half of this amount will be used to purchase lethal weapons.
