Lisa Scheer overcame bone cancer, but its consequences were painful and the girl decided to part with her leg.
A resident of the German Duisburg Lisa Scheer asked doctors to amputate her leg and considers it the best decision in her life, writes the Daily Mirror. It is noted that at the age of 12, the girl was diagnosed with bone cancer, which affected her right leg. After removal of the tumor and two years of chemotherapy, the disease receded, but the injured leg remained thin and weak. The girl went through a long period of rehabilitation and for 14 years walked with a cane, feeling constant pain. “I hated my leg. I was depressed from seeing her and from the pain she caused. I wanted to change something, but the doctors told me again and again that there was nothing to be done about it, ”Sheer said. As a result, after talking with people who have lost limbs, Lisa decided on amputation. In 2016, despite protests from family and friends, she underwent a three-hour operation and learned to live with a prosthesis. The amputation solved her problems with depression and chronic pain, Scheer said. “I did not lose my leg, but found a new life,” the girl is sure. She is not ashamed of her body, poses with pleasure for the camera and does what she loves – she is a tattoo artist.
