
A young man was the target of an attempted murder in Rosemont

The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) is investigating an attempted murder that occurred in Rosemont on Thursday.
Around 3:50 p.m., several shots were heard near the intersection of 19th Avenue and Rosemont Boulevard.
A man in his twenties was shot in the arm. Aware during his transport to a hospital, he is now out of danger, confirmed the SPVM later in the afternoon.
An investigation has been opened to find out the circumstances surrounding this attempted murder, said an SPVM spokesperson.
Investigators are watching the surveillance cameras and going to the door door to learn more. They should question the victim later in the day.
A security perimeter has been established between rue de Bellechasse and boulevard Rosemont.
About 700 yards to the west, a female police officer in her patrol car collided with a motorist as she drove to the scene of the attempted murder.
The officer was taken to hospital for minor injuries to an arm and neck. The citizen was not injured, said the SPVM spokesperson.
The events took place at the intersection of boulevards Saint-Michel and Rosemont .
A collision division investigation has been opened to find out more about the reason for this accident.
