22 years ago, Adèle Haenel was still (almost) a little girl. She was 13 years old and she was going to her first castings. It was at this time that she met Christophe Ruggia. After auditioning her, the director chose her for his film Les Diables. But, almost twenty years later, the actress revealed the behind the scenes of this filming. In 2019, she revealed in Mediapart that she had been victim of the director.
On Monday, December 9, Christophe Ruggia's trial for sexual assault on a minor by a person in authority began at the Paris court. Adèle Haenel thus had to face the man she describes as her attacker. And as described Noémie Schulz, a senior police-justice reporter at France Info, the actress was more than determined.

The specialist also believed she could feel the emotions of Adèle Haenel, « a lot of anger, almost spite », according to her.
A strong word to describe the state of mind of the woman who says she suffered repeated assaults when she was 12 years old. At the trial, she described assaults that were almost always at Christophe Ruggia's home. While he was “in an armchair,” she said he found a way to get close to her and began to caress her thighs and “kiss her neck,” and that he ” was breathing heavily » during these moments.
For his part, the director denies everything. He defends himself by speaking of a « pure lie ». He also speaks of an “overflowing sensuality” of the (very) young actress, of what he calls the “poses” and the “tongue movements” that she made at that time, that is to say at the age of 12.
Christophe Ruggia also cannot explain what he was doing with a teenage girl at his house for hours. Let us recall that at the time, he was 36 years old. Now 59 years old, still presumed innocent, he faces 10 years in prison and a 150,000 euro fine. His trial will continue until December 10.
