An 18-year-old man shot dead in Anjou late Sunday evening

This is the sixth murder to occur since the start of the year on SPVM territory.

A command post has been established near the crime scene by the SPVM.

The young man who was hit by at least one gunshot wound while walking on a sidewalk late Sunday night in the north -est of Montreal, succumbed to his injuries a few hours later at the hospital.

The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) reported no arrests early Monday in the violent death of the 18-year-old, who became the sixth murder victim since the beginning of the year on the SPVM territory.

According to what the police learned, around 10 p.m., a person who was in a car opened fire on the pedestrian who was walking on Hérisson Avenue, near the intersection of the Avenue Thérèse-Casgrain, in the arrondissement of Anjou. The car then stormed off the scene.

The police were notified of the event by at least one call to the 911 emergency telephone exchange.

When they arrived at the scene, the unconscious young man was lying on the ground. He was transported to the hospital.

No suspects have yet been arrested in connection with this case.

A security perimeter has been set up in the residential area where the attack is taking place. x27;is produced.

Canine squad dogs scoured the area surrounding the shooting. Investigators and forensic identification technicians were to comb the scene.

Potential witnesses are expected to be interviewed on Monday.
