Andriy Danilko bought Freddie Mercury's car back in 2013, but was never able to import it to Ukraine. The proceeds will go to charity.
A 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was put up for auction at RM Sotheby's in London. The car belonged to Queen vocalist Freddie Mercury. The history of the car was told on the website of the auction house.
Freddie Mercury decided to buy a Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow in 1979. He himself did not drive a car, but used the services of a driver. On it, the Queen frontman also drove the opera diva Montserrat Caballe. After Mercury's death in 1991, his sister Kashmir inherited the car.
The current owner of the car is not listed on the auction house's website, it is only known that he purchased Freddie's Rolls-Royce Mercury in 2013. It is very likely that he is Andrei Danilko, because he previously admitted this.
The Ukrainian singer and producer said that he bought Freddie Mercury's car almost 10 years ago, but could not import it into Ukraine (obviously, there were difficulties with customs clearance of the old Rolls-Royce). All this time, Andrey Danilko was forced to pay for parking his car in London.
The fact that the car may belong to Danilko is evidenced by the fact that the proceeds from Rolls-Royce will be transferred to the needs of the Superhumans Center prosthetics and rehabilitation clinic located in the Lviv region.
Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was produced from 1965 to 1980. The large sedan is equipped with a 6.75-liter V8 with 192 hp. With. and 3-speed automatic transmission. Freddie Mercury's car is painted silver, and its interior is trimmed with leather and wood. The equipment includes air conditioning, cruise control, power windows and a Sharp radio tape recorder. The mileage is about 100 thousand km, the original documents for the car and receipts from the service station, where its owner is indicated, are also preserved.
