According to Russian media, staff and visitors were evacuated from the shopping center. There is no information about the causes of the fire yet, one victim is known.

In the city of Balashikha in the Moscow region on Monday, December 12, at about 9 am Moscow time, the Stroypark shopping center caught fire. This was reported by the Russian agency “RIA Novosti” with reference to a representative of emergency services.
As specified, first building materials caught fire in an open area, then the fire spread to the first floor of the shopping center. The cause of the fire is still unknown. The fire was assigned the third number of complexity.
The fire has already covered an area of 500 square meters. m. 45 firefighters and 14 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
Ambulances are also working at the scene. Currently, journalists are aware of one victim – an employee of the shopping center.
“All employees were promptly evacuated. At the moment, the fire is being extinguished by the special services,” the press service of the Balashikha administration told reporters.
According to local residents, a fire and a column of black smoke from burning building materials are clearly visible in the Savvino microdistrict.
The All-Russian Union of Insurers estimated the damage from the fire in Mega Khimki at 20 billion rubles, which is a record for objects of this type.
Later it became known that the OBI hardware store burned to the ground.
