Le premier procès avait, lui, duré près de quatre mois au sein de la cour criminelle du Vaucluse.

This is one of the highly anticipated trials in 2025. After the announcement by the Attorney General of the Nîmes Court of Appeal, in a press release last December, that the appeal trial in the Mazan rape case would be held before the Gard Assize Court in the last quarter of 2025, this Monday, January 20, some details were released. From unofficial sources, it is suggested that the trial would indeed be held at the Nîmes Assize Court, starting in September, and for a duration of ten weeks. If for the moment, seventeen accused have announced that they want to appeal, they still have until the end of January to confirm or not this decision.

Four months of work

If the information is confirmed, this highly publicized trial will require work within the assize court, in order to accommodate the number of accused, who are all imprisoned following the previous conviction (between three and twenty years in prison). An upgrade estimated at nearly four months of work, in particular to install the cameras and the sound system in the room. It remains to be seen where the trials initially planned within the assize court will take place at the end of the year.
