
Arrest of a man suspected of having killed his mother in Montreal

The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) arrested on Wednesday a man suspected of having killed his mother in an apartment on Fullum Street, in the east end of Montreal.
At around 7:22 a.m. Wednesday morning, the police received a 911 call from a man claiming his mother was struggling with his brother in crisis and psychosis.
Thirteen minutes later, a police patrol ice arrived on the spot discovered a woman trapped under a piece of furniture, unconscious. The police say that marks of violence were apparent on the woman's body. According to them, there was a lot of blood in the accommodation and a knife was discovered at the scene.
The death of the woman was confirmed on the spot by Urgences-santé .
The suspect, in his 20s, had fled before police arrived, but was arrested later that day for interviewed, sources told Radio-Canada.
