In Rome on 78-m to year of life died a famous Italian poet, writer, film Director Bernardo Bertolucci.
According to local newspaper La Repubblica, he died after a long illness.
Bernardo Bertolucci was born on March 16, 1941 in Parma (Italy). In 1962 he directed his first film “Bony godfather”. Fame came to him after the premiere of the film “the Conformist” at the Berlin film festival in 1970.
In 1988, Bertolucci received the “Oscar” for best film, Director and screenplay for his film “the Last Emperor”.
Bernardo Bertolucci has also created such famous paintings as “Twentieth century”, “Last tango in Paris”, “Little Buddha”, “stealing beauty”, “You and I”.
In 2011 at the Cannes film festival, Bertolucci was awarded “the Golden palm” for his contribution to cinema. In 2013, the Director was honored with a star on the Hollywood walk of fame.
In 2014, held in Rome summit of Nobel peace laureates Bernardo Bertolucci was awarded the Prize of peace (Peace Summit Award) for his contribution in the field of human rights.
