In June, Russian car factories produced 89% fewer cars than in the same period last year. Most of the industry's enterprises in the Russian Federation are still idle.
The crisis in the Russian automotive industry continues. In June, industry enterprises produced only 13,420 passenger cars. This is evidenced by the data of Rosstat.
For comparison: in June 2021, car factories in the Russian Federation assembled 123 thousand cars – more by 89% or 9.2 times. It should be noted that, compared to May, auto production has grown, because the production of the so-called “simplified” VAZ and UAZ without ABS and airbags has begun.
In total, 281 thousand cars were assembled in Russia in the first half of the year – this is 61 .8% less than in the same period last year (736 thousand units). The production of trucks fell by 17.7% (to 70.4 thousand units), and buses – by 38.5% (to 5.3 thousand units).
Most enterprises in the industry, like before, idle. Large automobile concerns support sanctions against Russia and do not resume their work.
Moreover, car factories in the Russian Federation continue to stop. So, from July 25 and at least until August 8, GAZ will not work – most of the staff was sent on corporate leave. And part of the production capacity of GAZ has already been put up for sale – it was there that Volkswagen was previously assembled.
