Kim Kardashian first commented on the scandalous photo shoot of Balenciaga, of which she is a fan, in which children posed with BDSM paraphernalia. The use of children in pictures with BDSM accessories caused an unprecedented outcry, so that representatives deleted all the pictures and began to apologize. Eonline writes about it.
Fashion house Balenciaga was even accused of promoting pedophilia. Kim Kardashian is an ambassador and a big fan of this brand, so the outrage of the public was reflected in her.
Kim explained the delay by saying that at first she “wanted to talk with the team to understand how this could happen”, but not at all “not because she did not feel disgust and indignation”, which many accused her of.
“As a mother of four, I was shocked by the disturbing images. Child safety must be respected with the utmost care, and any attempt to normalize child abuse of any kind should not have a place in our society – period,” Kardashian wrote on Twitter.
Kim noted that she is now re-evaluating her relationship with the brand, “based on its willingness to take responsibility for something that should never have happened” and what actions will be taken to protect children.< /p>
The star noted that she appreciates the fact that Balenciaga immediately removed the scandalous pictures and its creative director Demna Gvasalia apologized.
“Having spoken to them, I believe that they understand the seriousness of the issue and will take the necessary measures so that this never happens again,” Kim wrote.
The fashion house, by the way, is going to sue the production company North Six Inc. and designer Nicholas de Jardin, who was responsible for the setting in the scandalous advertisement. In addition to Balenciaga bear bags, the photo showed an excerpt from a 2008 US Supreme Court case supporting federal laws on pornography affecting minors.
“We apologize for the display of disturbing documents in our campaign. We strongly condemn child abuse in any form. We stand up for the safety and well-being of children,” the brand said.
According to Balenciaga, such props was not agreed and was placed by the production company without the knowledge of the brand. Balenciaga is seeking $25 million from the defendants as compensation for reputation losses.
