On Sunday evening, several hours before the last farewell to Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles III issued a special statement in which he thanked everyone for the support he and his family had experienced in the last 10 days. He stressed that he and his wife Camilla were deeply touched by how many people wanted to pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II.
“As we were all getting ready for our final farewell, I wanted to just take this opportunity to say thank you to all the countless people who have been such a support and comfort to my family and me in this time of mourning, “wrote King Charles III.
Last farewell to Queen Elizabeth II
The last farewell to Queen Elizabeth II will take place on Monday, September 19. The celebrations are to start at 12:00 Polish time. This is when the memorial service at Westminster Abbey will begin.
At the end of the service, the coffin with the body of Queen Elizabeth II will be moved to the Chapel of St. George at Windsor Castle. Recall that the queen passed away on Thursday, September 8 at her Balmoral estate.
