This Friday, February 7, from 9:30 a.m., the first visitors will discover the stands of the 218 exhibitors with spaces set up, red carpet, projectors and the most beautiful pieces highlighted under a marquee or in the central hall of the exhibition center. “The public does not imagine all the preparation work that goes into it before the opening. Up until a few minutes before the public is welcomed, the exhibitors are perfecting their stands”, confides the organizer of the Nîmes Fair Pascal Settipani.

To offer a quality commercial event, the first of this importance on the calendar of French fairs, nothing is left to chance with the assembly of the marquees a week ago, then the laying of the carpets, the assembly of the partitions until this Thursday 9 p.m.

Race against time

From the beginning of the week, the craftsmen storm the marquees and central hall of the exhibition center: “We install the electricity for them and then it's up to them to work! They know how to work, what they have to do, in which location”, indicates Pascal Settipani.

It is not uncommon to see vans arriving at inside the exhibition center to unload all types of equipment, furniture, for a strange ballet, between the noise of drills, elbow grease to lift the bulkiest pieces.

The Parnasse VIP car park also allows vehicles to park for the sake of preparations. The assembly is carried out without any tension since everyone knows their mission. Which does not mean that there is not a little stress during this race against time which requires the assembly of stands with sought-after decoration and imposing volume in a few days.

The entire site is also placed under surveillance with the solicitation of security agents including during the preparation of the Nîmes Fair. They will also be mobilized during the event and afterwards during the dismantling according to the organizers: “It's impressive: on Tuesday, the day after the fair, the building is empty and on Thursday there are no more marquees.” But before that, four days of exchanges and purchases by nearly 30,000 visitors will liven up the site.

The Nîmes Fair from February 7 to 10, at the exhibition center, 230 avenue du Languedoc. Open from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday to Sunday and from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday. Free invitations on foiredenimes.com. Prices: €3 (free for children under 8) I subscribe to read the rest
