“Buon viaggio Jean-Marie” (“Have a good trip Jean-Marie”)… This is the message written on one of the banners made this Wednesday, January 8, by members of the ultras of the Lazio club in Rome on the occasion of the club's 125th anniversary. Known as belonging to the far-right movement, the Lazio ultras are not new to this. A few months ago, they were reported for fascist salutes made in Berlin before a European Cup match. In 2005, Italian striker Paulo Di Canio also came to greet the supporters of this Curva Nord with a fascist salute.

Tribute from Lille

On Friday, January 10, during the Ligue 1 match between Auxerre and Lille, it was the supporters of the northern club who, in turn, paid tribute to the founder of the FNB who died at the age of 96. According to our colleagues at La Voix du Nord, several members of the Dogues Virage Est (DVE) group chanted the name of the former leader of the French far right.

“Before the kick-off, there was a minute of applause to honor the memory of a local personality (Patrick Gendraud, president of the Yonne departmental committee who recently passed away). At the end of this applause, between 30 and 40 LOSC supporters chanted the name Jean-Marie. Their chant lasted about twenty seconds. We were quite cramped, there was quite a bit of promiscuity in the stand, we were quite stunned to hear that but no one dared to intervene”, explains a Lille supporter in the columns of the daily newspaper.
