Borrell spoke with the foreign ministers of Iran and Ukraine
Borrell welcomed Ukraine's decision invite IAEA experts and informed the Iranian minister about the unacceptability of Russian arms supplies for the war in Ukraine.
European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell spoke twice with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahyan about the supply of unmanned aerial vehicles to the Russian army. Borrell's spokesman Peter Stano said this, Interfax-Ukraine writes.
Stano did not report on the reaction of the Iranian minister, but stated that the EU was “quite clear with its partners, including Iran, in regarding the fact that the supply of military equipment to Russia, so that it continues its murderous war on Ukrainian territory against the Ukrainian people and civilian infrastructure, is unacceptable.”
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba reports his conversation with Borrell.
“I spoke on the phone with Josep Borrell, who welcomed Ukraine's decision to invite IAEA experts. We agreed to actively work together in the coming hours and days to provide facts and disprove yet another Russian lie about Ukraine in the Global South, including Latin America , Africa and Asia,” Kuleba tweeted on Monday.
Earlier, Borrell said that Russia was losing the war and becoming more and more isolated.
