Le président de l’Union pour les entreprises du Gard Steeve Calligaro a fait un point devant la presse ce vendredi 24 janvier sur ce qui attend le syndicat cette année.

President of UPE 30 since last fall, Steeve Calligaro wanted to discuss with the press this Friday, January 24, the various issues of his union. The first concerns the maintenance or exclusion of the Union for Gard Enterprises from the national organization of Medef. For the moment, nothing has been decided.

The UPE 30 steering committee is initiating a regularization roadmap (change of name, statutes, participation in bodies, president who can no longer be elected consular) and is planning a general meeting of the board of directors in the first half of 2025.

The union's missions were also discussed, with representation to represent the interests of companies to institutions. UPE 30 has 128 mandates and 90 volunteer representatives.

400 Gard members

In 2025, the union will continue to develop its activity with its members, numbering 400 in the department (82% are VSEs with fewer than 20 employees), i.e. more than 8,000 employees represented. Steeve Calligaro also intends to support businesses: “We must be able to break the isolation of business leaders who must not be alone with their problems”, recalled Steeve Calligaro.

The latter also presented the training activity “on stress management, support for change. These are not ongoing training courses but rather one- to two-day modules”. The opportunity for the president to show himself alongside companies, whether or not they are members of UPE 30, to help them develop and also face the crisis, the one that is particularly affecting the construction sector.

Steeve Calligaro, present at the wishes of the French Building Federation of Gard this Thursday, January 23, clearly understood the difficulties of this sector of activity: “They are finishing honoring their orders but then, they are considering taking measures of partial unemployment and workforce reductions”, in the absence of recovery or political stability. UPE 30 promises to be alongside Gard companies no matter what.

Place à l'entreprise

UPE 30 will organize a new edition of Place à l'entreprise on July 3 at a location yet to be determined. It is also relaunching its club 30 of the largest companies in Gard with the president of the Occitanie region of Medef. In addition, there will be the Tour de France of artificial intelligence on June 12 as well as the “Meeting with…” café in Nîmes, Alès and Bagnols-sur-Cèze. The meeting is set for June 30 at the premises of 102 Allée de l'Amérique latine in Nîmes.
