The organizers mention "too many financial uncertainties" to be able to "present a serene forecast budget".

There will be no more Mende Nature Photo Festival, neither in 2025 nor after. The association, which supports the event, announced on social networks, during the night of Thursday 23 to Friday 24 January, the cancellation of the fifth edition, initially scheduled from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 September, as well as its future dissolution.

“We can't anticipate anything”

“It is with great sadness that we announce the end of the Mende Photo Festival, write the volunteers. Organizing a free festival requires significant resources. Currently, too many financial uncertainties prevent us from presenting a serene forecast budget for the year 2025. Despite our efforts to obtain the support of our partners, we cannot anticipate anything. Including a deficit, which could vary from single to double on a 5-digit scale.”

A major event that disappears

It is therefore a major Lozère event that disappears. As a reminder, the Mende Nature Photo Festival brought together around thirty photographers, more than 3,000 visitors over the weekend and more than 16,000 for the open-air gallery. “We hope that other structures will put photography and our beautiful city of Mende back in the spotlight”, proclaim the organizers.
