Child died in fire in Mississaugas First Nation Credit

Various police departments are investigating to determine the circumstances of the tragedy.

A child died in the burning a camping trailer overnight Sunday into Monday south of Hamilton, say the Ontario Provincial Police.

Emergency services, including a team Six Nations Fire Department responded shortly before 2 a.m. to a fire alarm at an address in the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Constable Ed Sanchu said on Twitter k, of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

Upon arrival, firefighters saw that a camping trailer was engulfed in flames. They discovered the child's body there a little later.

Six people – two adults and four children – suffered minor injuries, according to officer Sanchuk.

The OPP Criminal Unit, Office of the Fire Marshal, Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service are investigating .
