Constantine 2: what future for the character played by Keanu Reeves?

Constantine 2, despite a mixed success for the first opus, remains eagerly awaited by fans. We reveal to you if a return of Keanu Reeves is possible!

Constantine 2 is widely desired by fans. Many would love to see Keanu Reeves reprise the role of the detective battling occult forces. The first film had only limited success when it was released in theaters. However, his reputation had grown over the years. The growing popularityby Keanu Reeves but also the enthusiasm for the universes of superheroes, DC and Marvel, have undoubtedly had an influence. Keanu Reeves himself had announced his interest in a new opus of Constantine. After announcements that gave hope for a project in progress, hope finally seemed slim. Without anything being officially programmed, it is reasonable to say that Constantine 2 will be made with Keanu Reeves or will not be made.

Constantine 2could also sign the return of Lucifer played by Peter Stormare. The latter had, from the beginning, shown his desire to participate in a sequel. The other actors of the first film had left nothing to show. This of course would depend on the scenario of Constantine 2. The original universe of comics leaves many possibilities for development. The question also arises of the articulation with other current productions in the DC universe. Fans had hoped, when Sandman announcedon Netflix, that it could open a door for the return of John Constantine. We know today that this is not the case, even if the Constantine family itself will be represented in the episodes.

Constantine 2 is still far from being on the program!

Constantine could make a return in series form first, most likely without Keanu Reeves. HBO Max had confirmed that a reboot was in the works. However, it is impossible to glean more information. The continuation of the series launched in the Arrowverse remains, for its part, unlikely. The series with Matt Ryan had not really found its audience. The character had, however, made multiple appearances in Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow. Predicting the future of the Constantine franchise is therefore a bit of an exercise in magic these days. One thing is certain, the expectation is there and the key players are ready to get started. Who knows an effective spell to trigger the arrival of a good scenario?
