CyberEx returns for a fourth year to educate people about cybersecurity

According to NOVIPRO, 56% of companies pay the ransom demanded by hackers.

The Quebec firm NOVIPRO will present on October 13 its fourth CyberEx, an event during which more than 30 big names in the field of information technology will pass on their knowledge under the theme of the modernization of cybersecurity processes.

The event, which annually brings together cybersecurity specialists, will be held at the Palais des congrès de Montréal and will be hosted by techno columnist Bruno Guglielminetti.

Formerly known as Cybersecurity 20 /20, CyberEx offers several workshops and conferences, both face-to-face and virtual. Business meetings and information booths are also planned.

The event is primarily aimed at business executives, people working in the IT field as well as technology and cybersecurity enthusiasts.

Participants will be invited to learn about technology trends such as cryptocurrencies, hacking and 5G. Detective Sergeant at the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) and cyber investigation specialist Maya Alieh will also host a conference.

The Quebec firm specializing in information technology insists on the need to make people working in the field of technology or information security aware of the new issues related to modernization, in particular with the introduction of laws , such as the one that governs the protection of personal information in Quebec.

Cybersecurity is a complex field that is changing rapidly. Technological advances and the improvement of hacking techniques, among other things, constantly upset our certainties and force the industry to constantly renew itself, explains the director of the security practice of NOVIPRO, Roger Ouellet, by way of press release.

About 1,200 people attended the event last year.

The theme of modernization will also be at the heart of the International Cybersecurity Forum (ICF), in association with CyberEx, which will take place on November 1 and 2 at the Palais des Congrès de Montreal.
