The young man sang on the terraces of the cafés. During his five-year stint at the cabaret Les trois maillets, Jacques Boni would say to him: “Come on Dany, be brilliant“. This is how Dany found his stage name.

“I thought it sounded a bit Las Vegas. It was my style, I wanted to bring crooners back into fashion (…). I had chosen that as a job, and it was vacant because no one was taking up swing anymore. I thought Dany Brillant sounded like it.” the artist confided in the show Hi Earthlings, on C8, in 2018. This is where he began his career with this stage name.

The singer talks about the death of his brother

In an interview with Télé-Loisirs, Dany Brillant confided in on his brother's illness: “My little brother, Steve, told me two years ago that he had cancer. I accompanied him in the disease.” Very close when they were little, the two men lost sight of each other before finding each other again. “We became very close again, we talked a lot. I told myself that, maybe sometimes, we had passed by each other, we had not shared enough of things.”

Dany Brillant's brother succumbed to his illness. To get better, the singer can count on his wife and children. Dany Brillant is very close to his partner, Nathalie Moury, with whom she has shared her life for fifteen years. The two lovers met at the Cannes Film Festival in 2008. Together, they have two children: Lino, born in 2010 and Dean, in 2012. In an interview for Gala in 2021, Dany Brillant said that his family is “my base, my breath. The foundation of my life.” Dany Brillant is also the father of Léah, born in 1993, from a first marriage.
