The State Security Department of Lithuania claims that the ex-lover of a Russian official may pose a threat to the national security of this country.
Now the former mistress of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Elena Kaminskas (formerly Shebunova), who is the mother of his children, is suing Lithuania. In the summer, the Migration Department canceled her residence permit in this country, but the woman is not happy with this decision. The State Security Department of Lithuania claims that the presence of Elena Kaminskas in Lithuania may pose a threat to national security, writes LRT.
Although many officials, and members of their families, from Putin's entourage are now under Western sanctions, Shoigu's ex-lover and the mother of his children found refuge in Lithuania and continue to fight for the right to live in this country.
Elena Kaminskas, in In the past, Shebunova, the mother of illegitimate children of the Russian Defense Minister, lost her residence permit in Lithuania this summer. The woman appealed this decision of the Migration Department at the end of August – beginning of September, but the consideration of the case in the Vilnius District Administrative Court has not yet been scheduled.
The Lithuanian Migration Department did not explain why the residence permit of Elena Kaminskas was cancelled. At the same time, the State Security Department of Lithuania reported that the residence of Elena Kaminskas in this country may pose a threat to national security due to her ties with Russian citizens.
Elena Kaminskas and Sergei Shoigu have two illegitimate children . The daughter of Sergei Shoigu in 2019 received Lithuanian citizenship after Elena Kaminskas married Lithuanian Adolfas Kaminskas and the latter adopted her.
Elena and her husband were doing business both in Lithuania and in other EU countries. Elena Kaminskas herself is still a citizen of the Russian Federation and applied for a residence permit in Lithuania in 2017. But over the past 2 years, she left Lithuania at least twice for a period of more than 6 months. And already in August of this year, she and her husband Adolfas Kaminskas announced their departure from Lithuania to Russia. As LRT journalists found out, Kaminskas himself received a passport of a Russian citizen back in the spring of this year.
According to journalists, Elena Shebunova previously worked at the Russian Emergencies Ministry, where she met Shoigu. Their first son was born in 2001, and their daughter in 2008.
Journalists claim that Shebunova until 2017 had close contacts with the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation and was even associated with large Russian companies that received state orders from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation . Although, according to some reports, now Kaminskas could communicate with Shoigu until 2021.
As Focus already wrote, Sergei Shoigu and other well-known officials of the Russian Federation, the SBU put them on the wanted list and faces life imprisonment.
