47-year-old British footballer David Beckham recorded an emotional video message in support of Ukrainian children suffering from Russian military aggression.
The father of four, who has been a UNICEF ambassador for more than 17 years, called on the world community to return childhood to children from Ukraine.
“I can't even imagine what Ukrainians went through during these five months… While the war is going on, it is important that we provide children with the opportunity to recover, play, meet new friends, be with their families, it is important to give children back their childhood. All children deserve it. And the children of Ukraine must be protected and safe. This our duty. Parents, leaders and mentors,” Victoria Beckham's husband addressed the world. His video message was accompanied by footage of Ukrainian children.
“UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador David Beckham supports Ukrainian children and calls on parents, leaders and mentors to help them return to their childhood. Safety is important for children now … So our children can dream brighter about their future,” the organization's Facebook page noted.
