It was there, in the Gascony department in Occitanie that their father, Robert, was born, and that the three sisters spent all their holidays.

In an interview given to France Info in 2017, Catherine Laborde spoke about this subject. “Like most children of my generation, holidays were synonymous with freedom. We first went to the Gers, to Saint-Mont, a tiny village where my father's godmother lived on the family property. We rode bikes along the banks of the Adour, singing at the top of our lungs the hits of the yéyés and the Beatles. My father organized treasure hunts for us…“ she said.

Settled in the countryside, Geneviève Laborde is currently retired. She spends her time at her town hall where she has been a municipal councilor for ten years. According to our colleagues at Gala, Catherine Laborde's sister is deputy mayor in charge of social relations. She is said to be in charge of the “rural home” of the commune where she lives and was re-elected in March 2024 with more than 80% of the vote.

But before that, she was reportedly the director of a wine house for a long time. It should be remembered that his sister François had bought vines in 2006 with the village castle-monastery, listed as a Historic Monument. Converted into a guest house, the place was sold in 2016. But the village of Saint-Mont remains the fiefdom of the Laborde family. Geneviève and I were with you last week (…) You left my darling very gently, silently, peaceful. We love you so much.“
