The Orthodox Church today honors the memory of St. Avvakum. He is considered the eighth of the 12 minor prophets. Legend claims that Habakkuk was a contemporary of the prophet Jeremiah and lived in the Babylonian stream. Also, according to legend, he died two years before the Jews returned from Babylon. The people called this day Avvakum Icy.
December 15 is the day of court workers in Ukraine.
