    Delicate poppy seed cake is a real culinary treasure, because it turns out not only tasty, but also very fragrant and pleasant. Its only disadvantage, perhaps, is a decent calorie content. However, despite this moment, it is advised to cook a delicious dessert.

    Note that poppy seed cake (the second name is poppy seed) is not in vain one of the most favorite among housewives. It is not prepared from yeast dough, like most pies, it does not have a filling, since poppy seeds are an ingredient in the dough, and it also does not require manipulations in the form of spreading, cutting, soaking, and so on.

    Poppy pie


    • Poppy – 110 gr;
    • Butter – 100 gr;
    • Wheat flour – 90 gr;
    • Baking powder – 3/4 tsp;
    • Sugar – 120 gr;
    • Vanilla sugar – 0.5 tsp;
    • Sour cream – 100 gr;
    • Salt – 1 pinch;
    • Chicken eggs – 4 pcs. You will need only yolks.

    Method of preparation:

    Mix softened butter until white with sugar, salt and vanilla sugar, then add to the mass yolks and mix well again. Then add sour cream and poppy seeds to the dough. Rinse the latter first with warm water and strain through a sieve to remove excess moisture. Mix all the ingredients, and then add the flour sifted through a sieve, mixed with baking powder. In order to give the cake a special taste, you can add dried apricots, raisins or other dried berries or fruits to the dough.

    Bake the cake for about 30 minutes at a temperature of 180 degrees.

    Serve dessert you can either water it with a little chocolate icing, or decorate it with a scoop of ice cream and fresh berries. They give an amazing combination of flavors.
