The world's oldest inhabitant, Lucille Randon, has died at the age of 118. This is reported by Agency France Presse.
The representative of the nursing home in Toulon, where Sister Andre lived since 2009, said that her death occurred in a dream.
Lucille Randon was born in France February 11, 1904. From the age of 12 she worked as a governess, from the age of 18 she was also a teacher. In 1944 she became a nun, Sister Andre (in honor of her older brother). Until her hundredth birthday, she took care of the sick and the elderly in Catholic hospitals.
She was recognized as the oldest inhabitant of the planet on April 26, 2022 after the death of Japanese woman Kane Tanaka at the age of 119.
“This is a big sadness, but it was her desire to join her beloved brother. For her, this is a liberation,” a representative from the Sainte-Catherine-LabourĂ© nursing home told AFP. 19 (got infected a month before her 117th birthday).
