After the demolition of the car park, Place Max-Rouquette should look (more or less) like these drawings in September 2025.

On the occasion of the first tree plantings on Place Max-Rouquette, the city of Montpellier unveiled new designs for the place, which will be inaugurated on Saturday 20 September 2025 for the European Heritage Days.

Concerts and cinema

The square will be able to host different events such as open-air cinema sessions or concerts. Facilities will also be set up such as a tambourine court, a basketball court and a children's playground. Finally, a kiosk will be set up at the end of the place towards the Place Royale du Peyrou.
