Since its beginnings, HMD has been betting on nostalgia. As a reminder, it uses the Nokia brand. And, for example, HMD launched a modernized version of the Nokia 3310. And more recently, HMD launched a smartphone called HMD Skyline, a device whose design recalls that of the old Nokia Lumia, those from the time when the Nokia brand used the Windows Phone operating system. And HMD's next move could well be a smartphone inspired by one of the Nokia models that most marked the 2010s: the Nokia Lumia 1020.
This is in any case what is suggested by an article published by the information site “HMD News”, which is relayed by our colleagues at GSMArena. This lookalike of the Nokia Lumia 1020 would have a rectangular design like the Skyline, and a circular photo module. The drawing published by the site also suggests that this new smartphone will have several photo sensors on the module. But, unfortunately, we don’t have any more information, other than the fact that it’s likely a future HMD product with similarities to the Lumia 1020. Furthermore, since this information doesn’t come from an official source, caution is advised.

A legend in the 2010s
If the Lumia 1020, released in 2013, is still talked about in 2024, it is because at the time, this smartphone had a unique camera. Indeed, Nokia equipped the Lumia 1020 with a 41 megapixel photo sensor which, for the time, was exceptional. The manufacturer highlighted the quality of the digital zoom that could be achieved thanks to this high resolution, and also offered a number of camera settings that appealed to photographers.
Name a smartphone which was truly ahead of its time.

The Nokia Lumia 1020 ran on Windows Phone 8. And one of its main rivals was the Galaxy S4 Zoom, which ran Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. This Samsung model had a 16-megapixel sensor on the back, but it also had a real camera zoom that allowed for 10x optical magnification.
