Donald Trump buried his ex-wife Ivana near the first hole of his Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey. According to Business Insider, this could bring the ex-US president and businessman significant tax breaks. The fact is that, in accordance with the tax code of the state of New Jersey, cemetery land is exempt from all taxes and fees. Cemetery companies are also exempt from paying any property taxes, taxes on personal property on their lands, as well as business taxes, sales taxes, income taxes, and inheritance taxes.

Trump Family Trust tax documents released ProPublica show that the trust sought to register the property in Hacketstown, New Jersey as a non-profit cemetery company, even though the field itself is 20 miles away.

Ivana Trump was the first person to be buried on this golf course, although Trump had long ago planned to build a cemetery there. In 2012, information appeared that he intended to build a mausoleum where he himself was to be buried one day. Trump later amended his proposal to establish a cemetery on the property, proposing to lay over a thousand graves. Then he changed the design again, planning to create a “private family cemetery with 10 plots”, then amended this proposal to also include a cemetery with 284 plots, the graves of which would be available for sale.

Saved on taxes Trump before. So, according to an investigation by The New York Times, in 2016, when Trump was campaigning, and in the first year of his stay in the White House, the politician paid only $ 750 in federal income tax. Before that, Trump did not pay federal income tax at all for 10 years, citing business losses.

Ivana Trump died on July 14 at her home on the Upper East Side. She was 73 years old. She was the first of Donald Trump's three wives. They lived in marriage from 1977 to 1992. They had three children: sons Donald Jr. and Eric and daughter Ivanka.
