Porsche's flagship crossover will be the first seven-seater model in the brand's history. The basic version of the electric car will cost about 100 thousand euros.
Porsche is preparing a large and luxurious crossover. The flagship off-road model of the brand will appear closer to the middle of the decade and will be electric. This is reported by the publication Autocar.
Information about the older brother of the Porsche Cayenne was officially confirmed by the company's CEO Oliver Blume. He said that it will be a very expensive premium crossover, the production of which will be launched at a plant in Leipzig. It will have a starting price of around 100,000 euros.
“This model will further expand our position in the luxury car segment. We are particularly targeting the higher margin segments and thus aim to seize new sales opportunities,” emphasized Oliver Blume.
The new Porsche crossover will be available exclusively in electric version. It will be built on the new SSP platform, which will also be used by the second-generation Porsche Taycan electric car and the third generation of the Panamera model. The main competitor of the model will be the new Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV.
The characteristics of the electric vehicle have not yet been announced. It is stated that it will be longer and wider than the Porsche Cayenne. It is expected that the electric car will be the brand's first seven-seater model. In addition, it is known that an 800-volt power plant is being prepared for the car, which supports ultra-fast 350-kilowatt charging.
