Rémi et Naïs Dumas, viticulteurs et éleveurs ont créé l’agence de voyages Agricult’Events. Midi Libre – JEAN-MICHEL MART
Officially launched in November 2024, the Agricult Events travel agency offers a complete immersion in the agricultural world through tailor-made stays.
Settled in Saint-Géniès-des-Mourgues since 2014, Rémi Dumas has taken up the torch of the family wine business, as his father and grandfather had done before him in this village on the outskirts of Montpellier. And, like his ancestors, he brings all his grapes to the cooperative winery in Saint-Géniès-des-Mourgues.
The cooperative winery is a family story for the Dumas, which is passed down from generation to generation, like a passing of the torch, with a flame that is still as bright as ever. “I find myself in the cooperative spirit, the one that consists of putting everything together and being in the collective. Even if it is not our wine, there is a story to tell around it, its own first inscribed in time and in its permanent modernizations, but also that of the families that make it up“, says Rémi.
Agritourism differently
Telling a story through that of viticulture, or even agriculture in all its cultures and activities, sharing it and starting from it to make others travel, this is the idea that will travel through the mind of Naïs, a tourism professional, when she meets Rémi in 2020. “We are passionate about the same things: wine, our rural traditions, French gastronomy and bullfighting. These are all passions that we explore here, just as we do when we travel. I thought it might be interesting to put our two professions at the service of agritourism“, explains Naïs.

Then we wanted to share our passions with others and show the reality of farmers' lives“, she continues.
An exercise that Rémi was already familiar with through his union responsibilities within the Young Farmers, which led him to address these subjects on many occasions and in different farms and regions of France. Setting up a travel agency around agriculture thus became obvious, as did its baptismal name, Agricult’Events, evoking their desire to combine heritage, culture and agriculture.
“Bringing to life what farmers live”
The principle of the stays is to link cultural heritage, historical heritage and agriculture in all the regions of France and Spain, the other country of Naïs' heart, and in which she worked for the tourism sector. If the emblematic heritage sites are must-sees that stays do not deviate from, their agency offers to get off the beaten track with agriculture.
From wine tasting to market gardening, livestock farming, dairy product manufacturing, or simply discovering the behind the scenes of a ham drying workshop or that of a manade, everything is an excuse to discover the agricultural world and its daily life. “The goal is to make experience what farmers experience and to share a special time with them“, adds Rémi.
Whatever the length of the stay, the agency's proposals can evolve according to the desires of the clients. “Nothing is imposed. Our travel agency tailors. We adapt to everyone's desires and rhythms“, adds Naïs. Before adding: “For each trip, we always try to bring a little something extra to make the encounter even more memorable.“
The farms are chosen for their regional specificity or, on the contrary, their originality, their family size and their short supply chain practices. “We don't just stick to the “headliners”. We're looking for gems because we want to show the diversity and richness of agriculture, as well as its ability to reinvent itself all the time“, concludes Rémi.
